Blacksad - Tome 6 - Alors, tout tombe. Première Partie de Diaz Canales Juan

Finally after a long time new volume of Blacksad is published :) I wont go into much talk about art because (as was case before) art is magnificent. What to say but .... beautiful :)

Story-wise our private eye gets involved into the conflict between Mafia and construction unions. What starts as a rather straight-forward task to protect the Union representative from Mafia, escalates into a conflict between main power players in the city, rich and powerful aiming to change the city landscape and leave their mark.

Cannot wait for the conclusion of the story in volume 2.

Highly recommended to fans of beautiful art, noir crime stories and Blacksad in particular.… (mais)

They All Fall Down, Part 2 (Blacksad, #7) de Juan Díaz Canales

After shocking ending of Part 1 we follow Blacksad as he tries to find out who is responsible for the murder of the Union leader. Parallel to this, Weekly, our intrepid weasel, tries to prove his worth as investigative journalist (ah, women, they will be the end of him :)) and meets very unexpected and not so good results.

Art as always is excellent. Pages are bristling with life and intrigue.

Only issue I have is that this is second installment (out of planned four) and numero tres is expected in early 2023 (!!!). Arrrggghhhh, too long, too long ..... but it will be worthy wait :)

Highly recommended, just keep in mind that in this chapter some of the clues are explained, relations between some of the characters are made more clear, but lots more is left for discovery. Cannot wait for follow up volumes.… (mais)

Blacksad de Juan Díaz Canales

This is wonderful graphical novel. Both story and art are exquisite - panels, pacing, perspective, framing.... pure joy to read and look at.

When you look into those frames showing our protagonist in center and whole bunch of characters and situations in the background ..... it cannot but bring Alex Raymond, Hal Foster or Milton Caniff to mind.

Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys the comics, art and great story combined :)

Blacksad: A Silent Hell de Juan Díaz Canales

Gorgeous graphical novel. Every time you look at certain shots you will find something new in it, be it among the mass of people walking in the street, buildings, city or interaction of the above mentioned.

Story puts our PI onto streets of New Orleans looking for a missing person. Blacksad is maybe out of his hometown but he is as always on the track to reveal the facts and truth and ready to answer in measure to anyone trying to push him around.

Great read [story-wise] and true feast for the eyes. Highly recommended.… (mais)
