Not wonderful. Awkward writing, with a heavy over-dependence on italics; clumsy characterization and silly motivation. It took me forever to read, I was just slogging through it so I could finish and get rid of it. And why would he go white at hearing from Rountree? The crisis had a very silly trigger. Happy ending, of course (it is a romance, after all), but very rushed. 90% of the book spent setting them up in opposition, then in the last two chapters suddenly everything clears up.
