It's rare that I don't finish a nonfiction book and one about movies at that, but…

I gave up after about a hundred pages. The reasons were manifold: first of all the book is poorly written and edited, as there are a lot of errors great and small on almost every page (well okay, every five pages is more like it). But my biggest complaint is that in those one hundred pages the interviewees talked about pretty much anything but editing film. The book might be a sensible read for those interested in the people, as they talk about growing up and their favourite authors etc, but I gained close to no insight to their work methods.… (mais)
