This was a very interesting, and educational, book that I am definitely going to hold onto until my daughter is older, so I can include it in her homeschooling. Not only does it teach another culture, but it teaches a lot of about economics and business. Looking forward to her learning more about it! :)

I won a copy of this book.

This was a very interesting book. It is filled with essays on Mexican business culture and how these things all fit into a working relationship with people in a Mexican company. There are questions at the end of every essay and "Key Learning Terms". I could see this book being used in a classroom to teach business etiquette and history. This book is especially important at this time, with Trump threatening to cut NAFTA and America's ties to Mexico.

This collection of academic essays and studies is a timely release; its publication (pre-dating the Trump Presidency) by just a few months offers a glimpse of the "other side" of the controversial North American Free Trade Agreement through close readings about Mexican economics. One of main strengths of this aggregation of writings is written from both a historical and current economic context; while this would be expected from any anthology pertaining to business, what makes this of particular value is both the cross-section of topics (e-commerce, government interests, media, corporate culture) and the perspective of the authors who are qualified to speak on their topics from a Mexican-American/Mexican national standpoint. College freshman-sophomore business, finance or accounting elective courses (as well as International/Cultural Studies and Political Science) would benefit from this text, and instructors will appreciate the key-terms glossaries and discussion questions included after each section will allow these essays to fit easily into lessons plans as a required textbook or as stand-alone readings.… (mais)
