Very difficult to read about the author's experiences, but her honesty is compelling, as is her attempt to learn about and describe where her rapist came from. A sad story, but I admire that while suffering her own pain she can feel others' as well.

Joanna Connors tenía 30 años cuando le encargaron escribir la crítica de una obra de teatro. Allí fue violada por un extraño. Victims are seen in a different light at the end than they are at the start of this emotional journey and we find that while people can overcome their circumstances, too often we are left with the fact that they don’t. I walk away a bit different than when I started it and I like books that can move me this much. This is a must read!… (mais)

A book that should be read by everyone. Sadly, this experience is not anything you can get over, even by searching and coming to terms with the other half---the rapist. In that sense the book is a plea for society as a whole to come to grips with this right at the beginning, with the birth of a child and the growth of that child into a functioning, caring part of society.
