I’m only giving this book four stars because I want it to be longer. I want to know more about Theo — to be in his head and get more of his life at school and his personal reflections on the competition.

When I was first reading and grasping the fact that the main character being seventeen and about to be romantically involved with older men, I wanted to stop reading. I was mad at the situation happening to a young man who didn’t want these things to really happen. But at the same time, these things happen. And it brings validity to those that want to have their experiences, however traumatic, validated. In the end, it’s a positive message of resilience. Under pressure, love wins out and there is justice.… (mais)
