Wish I'd read the GR description first, wouldn't have wasted my time on this - I hate chunky yarns and "chic!!" designs (so-called) tend to give me hives... (sigh).

Nicely produced, good pix, excellent instructions, but limited range of sizes available and the aforementioned two major - for me - difficulties, doom this book to oblivion, at least in my eyes. YMMV.

From 2008, the designs may have briefly been "in" for a heartbeat or two, but I doubt it - what skinny model-type is going to want to be completely covered, pretty much, in bulky yarn? One of my Pet Peeves is that so-called "chic designs" are rarely good-looking or comfortable-looking, and the patterns herein are no exception. Most look as though they would be quite unsuitable for most people.

NB!!: This is a very poorly marketed book. It specializes in patterns for petite women; Chia's size large is generally for a 33 inch bust. I am not much of a fashionista, and I never heard of the Twinkle design line. Perhaps for those in the know, that name in the title is sufficient notice of the size.

I cannot imagine why the book was done this way, unless the publisher figures that the market share for larger, inobservant women who will buy this by mistake is greater than the share of small women who will be thrilled to see a book in their sizes.

Many of the deisgns are quite attractive. I haven't returned my copy, since I may try to adapt them to my size. Just know what you're buying. I can't comment on the instructions, since I haven't made one, but the patterns look clear and well diagrammed.… (mais)
