It took me a while to get the long weekend so I could read the final book in the trilogy. And it is the best book in the trilogy - it goes in a different direction to the first 2 books but I preferred it. I much prefer personal stories to too many battles. Spiritually is a major component of the plot as characters try to survive magic wholesale destruction.
I would give this trilogy a try if you like classic fantasy but with a more modern approach.

I enjoyed the first part of this trilogy a lot but certain aspects weren't perfect. Part 2 felt better to me in many ways. Better plotting, characters, more assured. And an end I did not expect. Looking forward to conclusion in September.

I enjoyed this mostly. It was easy to read. Sequara was my favourite character but I also liked the different perspectives of the supposed "bad guys". And the description of the "magic" in use was unusual too. The plot is very much classic fantasy - hero on journey to find his "destiny" and tbh I found Dayraven the least interesting of the characters. But there is certainly potential for the sequel to take an unexpected turn. Will be interested to see where book 2 goes.
