Il libro affronta il tema del difficile rapporto tra La Chiesa di Roma ed il fascismo, attraverso le tappe che vanno dall'instaurazione del regime alla politica antisemita del Duce, dalla spedizione in Etiopia alla partecipazione dell'italia alle due guerre mondiali.
I enjoyed this book, but I must warn the reader that I was interested in this age and the main character, Majorian, before starting.
It is an account of the events of the second quarter of the 5th century in the Western Roman Empire, as seen throught the eyes of Julius Valerius Maiorianus, a young Roman senator that follows the military path. He is the witness of the wars with the barbarians and of the power struggle within the Roman court.
