Nina's Magic is about a child in Russia during a famine and a depression. Nina lives with her grandmother and misses her parents a lot. One day a random visitor stayed with Nina and her grandma, and he left her a present which she found the next day. The present was magical paints that Nina used to revive life in Russia and use it for good. Anything Nina painted came true. Nina used it to make new clothes for people, stock all of the houses with food, and gives cows to people for milk. Nina also used these paints to bring her parents home.
While this is a creative story, I think it was boring. It dragged on, and was very wordy for a children's book. I think the author did really well describing her story, she didn't leave any details out. I think she has a very creative imagination, and I like that the theme of her story was helping others. I probably would not recommend this children's book.
