Robert E. Buswell

Really interesting read! I didn't fully understand what it is that monks did on a daily basis (I imagined it to be something like meditating all day with breaks for small meals), so this book taught me a LOT about life in a monastery and the different roles that monks must play to keep the organization running. Buswell is so passionate about the subject and knows so goddamn much. I appreciated his care in integrating his personal experiences with his more objective knowledge to gently contradict the way Zen Buddhism is portrayed in the west.… (mais)
