Summary: This book describes how David Baker, a 12-year-old boy from the northern coast of Australia, lives.

Review: This book is jam-packed with information about life in Australia. I think it's great, because it answered pretty much every question I had about every day life in Australia. Obviously, the information is dated now, but it's still a very valuable book to have in the classroom, so that students can learn about how someone their own age lives in a different country.

An Aboriginal Family describes the life of a real family of Aborigines in the Northern Territory of Australia. Their life is shown through pictures and how they live day to day. Although their lives can seem very different from the usual life of a child who is not an Aborigine, you really get to know the family. The book does not go into the problems of discrimination and poverty, however.
