You Can’t Screw This Up: Why Eating Takeout, Enjoying Dessert, and Taking the Stress out of Dieting Leads to Weight Loss That Lasts by Adam Bornstein is a self-help book, with a forward by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mr. Bornstein is a nutrition consultant, editor, and published author.
I have been working out, lifting weights for decades, but nutrition has always eluded me. My sweet tooth hasn’t helped, of course, but I cook and don’t eat out often, or drink too much, or take steroids (but maybe I should?).
In You Can’t Screw This Up, author and nutritionist Adam Bornstein demystifies the diet industry and their business model of keeping you fat, unhappy, and spending money. The author’s main message is that it is impractical, and impossible to be perfect which sets you up for failure.

The book is divided into easy-to-read, informative, and entertaining sections. Starting with the author’s philosophy, and sections on the “why”, the “how”, and the “what”. Each claim Mr. Bornstein makes is backed up by research, which he shares.
On a separate note, you can sign up for Adam and Arnold’s daily email. It’s a pleasure, in this divisive world of ours where every molehill is a mountain, and fake outrageous are the talk of the day, to start my morning with a positive, balanced, and science based advise.
We need more books like this, fighting the pseudoscience which preys on people’s built-in need for fast solutions. I always read self-help books with a skeptical eye, as I did with this book. However, I found it to be more grounded than many other books, no other agenda besides making your life better, and not making any sales pitches while at it.… (mais)
