There was a lot more to this book than I anticipated. It took me a little bit to get into, but once I did, I was truly invested in the outcome. This appears to be a Christmas story but is actually a winter story with just a little Christmas at the beginning.

Clemmie is enjoying singing Christmas songs at a local event when her fun is brought to a screeching halt when she wins the grand prize in a drawing. One would think that winning a grand prize would be great, but not for Clemmie. She has won the opportunity to have her portrait painted by a renowned local artist who also happens to be her ex. They are not each other's biggest fan. Or are they? There are a lot of unresolved feelings and issues that come out over the course of the book and definitely some surprises for the characters that I wasn't expecting. I learned that this is one of several books in a series of standalones. I kind of wished I had read the earlier books just to get more of a feel for the community and side characters. That being said, I didn't have any trouble following the story of Clemmie and Ross and rather enjoyed how it played out.

My sincere thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book and give my unbiased opinion of it.

This is a lovely story set in the Yorkshire Dales. It revolves around the village of Tuppenny Bridge and many of its inhabitants, but the main story is about Summer and Ben. She volunteers at an equestrian rescue center, and he's a local vet. Both have a crush on the other, but their pasts seem to get in the way of romance.
Meanwhile, Summer's mother is remarrying, her future step-sister Frankie is spending time with Ben's brother Jamie, and the Lavender Ladies are holding a betting book on Summer and Ben's romance.
There are some strong James Herriot vibes which I really loved with Ben's occupation as a vet and the horses and other animals. There are some fun moments and some sad ones, but this is a delightful story in a charming village.

Oh Wow!!!. Until now I was a Sharon Booth virgin, how on earth has that happened? We are both apparently from the same neck of the woods and I’ve somehow missed her work.

I really adored this Yorkshire based book, as a Yorkshire Lass I felt at home reading it if I’m honest. The story had me hooked. We had deception, laughs and romance with a few little twists and of course the Yorkshire Dales would not be complete without sheep and a sexy farmer.

This really was an enjoyable read and I just know that I will be shouting from the rooftops for book two.… (mais)

What a lovely return to Kearton Bay and all the old friends there. It's finally Rhiannon's story and I loved it. Harry has come to Kearton Bay to be close to his daughter Amy while Rhiannon is fretting because her relationship with her son Derry is still unresolved. It's kind of a wonderful mess as these two people perfect for each other work out how to escape from their pasts and find happiness together.
It's a wonderful story with interesting and realistic characters, even those you don't like sometimes. Of course, the setting is fabulous and I love the visits to Whitby or talk about the hob hole at Runswick Bay. It's so nice to catch up with the goings-on at Kearton Bay.… (mais)
