Elizabeth Bemis

I loved this book! It's a friends to lovers book which I always seem to enjoy. Gracie & Joe have been friends since 1st grade and have had their ups and downs. Finally, they both come to realize that they are in love with each other but are afraid of messing up their friendship. Their journey is fun, funny, sexy, scary and heartwarming. Great ending too! Love this series so far. Can't wait to read the next one.

Friends and Fortune Cookies gave me tingles. From the start the dynamics of the relationship was obvious. Clueless Grace is so wrapped up in herself she almost misses out on the best thing in her life. Joe let emotions and fear cause him to mess up his relationship with his best friend. Now he wants to make things right. It was not hard to fall for either of these characters. They were both so adorable it was hard not to. Elizabeth Bemis is a new author for me and if Friends and Fortune Cookies is anything like the rest of her work this was a great introduction. Looking forward to more of her stories in the future. Katherine is overweight and out of shape with self-esteem issues. Quinn is a health fanatic who owns health clubs for which Katherine's company is trying to get the advertising account. They clash but cannot deny their attraction.

I liked these characters and the story. My only complaint is why do large women almost always have issues with their size in romances. Why not show a BBW who is happy with her body and leads a productive life regardless of what others think of her and her size? Katherine was a great character but it drove me crazy that Quinn kept saying "she's not my usual type." Who cares? She was wonderful and should have dumped Quinn when he kept putting her at arm's length because of what others said. That drives me crazy in BBW romance. Although I did enjoy her breaking into her house when she locked herself out. That was realistic and funny. She did and thought what I would.… (mais)
