Resenhas

This is a very deep, insightful, and thought-provoking nonfiction devotional consisting of 50+ short chapters. Each chapter starts with a Bible verse (and any parallel verses) from the Gospels to reference to as you read the book, and discusses the questions Jesus asked and the questions asked of him.

The chapters cover many deep topics that Christians should ponder and take to heart. An example of this is the chapter "The Goldilocks Zone", which is about lukewarm Christians who are afraid to go to any extremes in their faith, and therefor remain wishy-washy about important issues instead of taking a stand. Not too hot, not too cold. This is not what God wants. Jesus came to send fire on the earth (Luke 12:49).

Even though the book is short and the chapters easily read, this is not a light, fluffy, feel-good read. It makes you think. The book is not intended to be browsed or skimmed through, but studied in conjunction with the Word of God for a more deep and fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ.

Because of the book's depth, this is without a doubt the best Christian nonfiction work I've read since J.C. Ryle's "Holiness" and Lee Strobel's "The Case for Christ", my two favorites up until this point. I highly recommend it, and consider myself blessed by having been able to read it. Five stars.

I received a copy of this eBook as an Early Reviewer.
I've read many devotional guides in my life and found this one well written, thought provoking but not too "preachy".
Discussing the questions Jesus asked and was asked is an original approach and encourages readers to raise their own questions and come to their own conclusions, This guide could be used by individuals, families and Bible study groups.

A mini Christian devotional with short and engaging chapters that truly encourage the reader to think about the topic in new ways and with refreshed depth. I may not have agreed with every perspective, but this work is thought-provoking. It can be read piece by piece or in one sitting, depending on preference. 4.5 Stars
