Prana is the life-force that vitalizes everything in the universe and all systems of natural medicine and healing are based upon an understanding of how to keep this life force in balance. The yogic science of pranayama and its various breathing exercises are based on understanding prana and how to work with it. Atreya combines yogic techniques-breath, prana, and Ayurvedic practices-to provide a step-by-step guide to maintaining pysical and mental balance. Stressing the importance of connecting both practitioner and patient to a promordial source of well-being, he offers treatments for ailments ranging from asthma to AIDS, from bronchitis to back problems, from cancer to the common cold. Pranic techniques are offered as a complement to the allopathc regimens of Western health care. Using modern illustrations to help new students relax and relate to the healing process, this book is therapeutic in and of itself-a sure cure for whatever ails you!
