This is a different take on the classic story about the princess and the frog. In this story, the girl is the frog and the boy is the prince. After spending the whole day as a princess, the frog realizes that she likes her life just the way it was. Very cute story to shows that the lilipad isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

MOTIF-TRANSFORMATION; AND VARIANT OF CLASSIC
The lively, watercolor illustrations capture the heart of this story. Here the frog, a former princess, longs to meet a prince and become a princess. She meets a prince and they strike a deal, she will try being a princess for a day and if they like it, at midnight, they will marry. She finds that she doesn't like the dresses, nor does she understand or appreciate the behavioral expectations of being a princess. The prince is frustrated with her mistakes, such as jumping off the balcony into the cool pond. By midnight, she realizes that she wants to remain a frog and hops out of the castle.

Be careful what you wish for, appreciate who you are, and be yourself are the themes in this twist on the classic. Children should enjoy the humor, illustrations and the message of self-acceptance.

Summary: This book is about a female frog who wants to become a princess. One day when the prince is out golfing he loses he ball and vows to grant any wish if someone finds it. Frog found it and asked to be a princess. The prince was reluctant to grant it and told Frog to try being one for a day. Frog then goes through a normal day of being a princess and makes her decision in the end.
SR: The Frog Princess is a classic story about someone wanting to be the prince/princess. But when they see how the life really is all they want to do is return to their original life. This book shows you both sides of spectrum.
TR: The Frog Princess is the usual story of a normal person wanting to be famous. I found the book interesting and fun. The pictures added some humor to the story also.
