A very good autobiography of a woman who really had a remarkable life and did something remarkable with it. Married at 12, divorced by 14, she becomes a doctor and then a lawyer. She uses her means to save many many people when her country goes into a complicated civil war and eventually helps rewrite the countries constitution.

The write is simple, straight forward and has the effect of seeming like a person speaking a foreign language to me. She has another writer on this book so i am not sure why the writing is not more sophisticated. Perhaps it was a decision to keep the writing close to the original. For me it was a bit off putting after a while. I have no other complaints.… (mais)

A Doctor and lawyer, this author serves her people in more ways than possible to comprehend. She received her medical training in Russia, and returned to Somalia- eventually opening her own hospital. When war lord violence and famine wreaked havoc forcing many people to move, she opened up her land to refugees eventually working to help 90,000 people.
