This one had too many abelist slurs in it courtesy of Tokyo Pop

Over all the final volume doesn't bring a close to any of the plot threads that have been introduced and only really sought to just say "Ao is totally one of those 80s espers that looks 16 and live forever maybe." That's it. After that there's a story called Divine that is just random nonsense. Even the manga-ka says this. However at least even the Manga-ka admits that Japanese men are all Lolicons going so far to even have one of the otaku characters want to see the panties of a little girl.
How true to life. *looks over at the piles of light novels with sexualized girls* Even so this manga was form back about a decade too.

Overall the conclusion was kinda crap, but I take it the manga ran out of popularity. Tokyopop's declined translations didn't help the story any either.

In follow-up to my review for volume one I can definitely say that I think this manga improves over time! The characters seemed to have found a niche for their personalities (although I might be feeling this because I've stopped comparing the series to Psychic Power Nanaki) and the storylines have gone from completely corny to merely silly, which is kind of the point since this is a "humor" manga. It certainly did get me to chuckle a couple times.

In this volume Shima encounters a psychic who is having a bit of a problem with a customer. When the psychic repays Shima with a bad fortune (along with outrageously flirting with him) he earns the disdain of Kaori who already has issues with anything psychic. The other story involves a mad whacker that Anything Inc. is hired to protect a student from.

I like the edgier Kaori who seems to have more secrets than ever. Definitely an improvement over the slightly bubble headed character we were originally introduced to. Also the almost evil appearing Yoichi's comments to Kaori about Shima were most interesting. Now that I've gotten this far in the series I'm certainly going to be reading along with the rest!

18 year old Shima has a mission in life to carry on his father's tradition of solving mysteries. This is slightly complicated by his overwhelming fear of fire after losing his parents in one. When Shima is contacted by 16 year old Kaori through his Anything Agency website he is surprised to find he is working for teen supermodel Kyo who is Kaori's alter-ego. Kyo is being stalked and it's up to Shima to find out who the stalker is. During the case Kaori and Shima both find in each other a stability that helps shore up their own personal insecurities leading Shima to take on Kaori as a partner in solving mysteries.

I felt this was a passably interesting start to what could be a very interesting series as it goes on. It is hard for me not to compare Shima to Ao from Psychic Power Nanaki (Rya Saenagi's prematurely ended trilogy) and find him a bit lacking since I really liked Ao. I also felt that the relationship, and we're talking friendship not BL, between the leads was rather rushed. They went from barely knowing each other to depending on each other in the space of a page and a half. Some of the cases seemed a bit on the corny side as well.

Overall I did enjoy this first volume enough to want and continue on and I feel as though it may get better as it goes along.
