... Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, J. K. Rowling 1999 341p Rating 5/5 Comments: A great continuation of Book 1 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. J. K. Rowling finds a new way for He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named to torment Harry and his friends at Hogwarts. Enter Ginny Weasley, she ...

60) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling. I know I already read this once this year, but this time I read it aloud to my fiance, who likes Harry Potter but isn't really a re-reading sort of person. I submit that reading it aloud is different from reading it to myself, and ...

What The Sorcerer's Stone does to The Chamber of Secrets?

20. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling The book that started the Harry Potter phenomenon that is still thriving today. Not my favorite in the series, but important just the same. (Review).

I've read all the Harry Potter books. They are okay (although Deathly Hallows was borderline, padded with way too much useless camping, and having a poorly thought out ending), but they are no better than a dozen other young adult series. To me, J. K. Rowling's books represent the ...

When looking at the 2nd most popular book (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at the time of writing), the popularity line should read 'There is 1 book more popular.'

Some of my favorite movie variations include those based on The Secret Garden, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Little Women. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite HP book, and also my least favorite HP movie.

The LT ranking gabriel posted was pretty much identical to the way I feel, except I like Sorcerer's Stone more than Order of the Phoenix. I'm rereading the series now though, so my opinion may have changed from the last time I read the books. It's been years since I read some of them.

I can't claim to have read anything quite so demanding. My current Latin read is Harrius Potter et Philosophi Lapis but I'm girding my loins to move on to Harreios Poter kai he tou philosophou lithos. There's an excellent crib by J.K. Rowling. :-)

I avoided them because they were kid's books, but then my sister handed me Sorcerer's Stone and I was hooked. So hooked in fact, that I read Prisoner of Azkaban before Chamber of Secrets because my sister was reading it, and I couldn't wait for her to finish it.

Same here. I resisted my entire family's urgings until Goblet of Fire was out. Then on a family trip we listened to Sorcerer's Stone in the car, and I was bowled over by Jim Dale's performance. After that, I had devoured the other three books within a week or two. And yes, after seeing the ...
