... story and well written. My review is here. Now just starting Your Inner Fish. Am I avoiding getting back to Life and Fate? Maybe just a little....

... talked me out of trying Stories in Stone. I was considering it but it doesn't sound like I'll miss much by skipping it. Your Inner Fish was a book I enjoyed also. You've convinced me to try the Barefoot Gen books at some point in the future. Continued good reading to you.

Your Inner Fish is now on my wish list. Enjoyed your comments about this book!

Oh, man, I loved Your Inner Fish. It may even be one of my all-time favorite popular science books just because, while I was reading it, I kept stopping to stare in wonder at my own hands (and other bits of my anatomy) as if I were seeing them and understanding them for the first time. You ...

I picked Ancestor's Tale instead of Your Inner Fish for the treatment of a similar theme, but that doesn't mean I won't read it one day. There are just so many I want to read -- I have nine books going at the same time right now!!! The Ancestor's Tale -- Richard Dawkins 2. The Secret Histor ...

True, but there are probably still more than there used to be! Did you get your hands on Your Inner Fish yet? (While typing this it occurred to me what odd question that is.)

This past weekend I finished Your Inner Fish : A Journey into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body by Neil Shubin. An edition of the "San Pedro River Review", a small poetry journal from Tucson, Arizona, arrived in the mail and I read through that. Next will be Barefoot Gen, Volume Thre ...

This may be a stretch for this category, but I am in the middle of Your inner fish and since a majority of the research for this book took place in the Arctic, I guess it does qualify as a Polar region book. Dr. Shubin writes in a rambling prose, like an instructor in class, completely ...

I second Your Inner Fish, it was one of my favorite books from last year. It's popular science but it isn't dumbed down. I like the idea of reading one from every one of the 10 main division of a top level category. I need only a 58x from the 500s but my local libraries are a little sparse in ...

13. Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin This is a lovely book, clearly and concisely informative. Whenever I was thinking I need a diagram for this, there it was. It's not only your inner fish, it's your inner ancestry back to microbes, but the author is a paleontologist who (along with others) ...

Hey fog-struck! Interesting list. I really liked Your Inner Fish. The firsts 75 pages or so were stressful because he was pedantic and I was afraid I wouldn't like it, but I persevered. His writing improved, in my opinion, and I really appreciated his ideas. His proofs and logic are elegant. ...

Avisann-there are quite a few authors with a gift. Neil Shubin springs immediately to mind-Your inner fish explains palentology and evolution in such an entertaining way, you forget you're reading a book on comparative vertabrate zoology. :) David Sacks is similarly talented in his ...

... settings are brilliantly done. 2. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. A classic clash of cultures book. 3. Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin. A great evolution book that doesn't get bogged down in the God debate. Just some straight-up science findings. Refreshing. With some ...

>32-Did you read Your Inner fish, too? :) That book spends alot of time discussing this theory. Plus, it's a good read.

Your Inner Fish-very well written and interesting

OK, since it'd been so long since I've read a QM, I went ahead and updated that one. So, QM: Your Inner Fish and QP: Bonk!

... might consider something along the lines of Why Darwin Matters or Not in our Classrooms. I was particularly struck by Your Inner Fish, in the way it just dives into evolution and adaptation-and I don't think he even mentions Darwin (which I recognize is some kind of evil buzz word for many ...

I saw Neil Shubin on The Colbert Report and heard him on NPR talking about his book. It looks really interesting.

>11 Your Inner Fish is on my wishlist. Good to see someone is enjoying it.

I'm reading Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin which is very good. Dude, not only was your great-great grandfather a monkey but your great-great-great-great grandfather was a damn fish. Actually, some of the DNA work now being done is fascinating. Good stuff.

... about it. Great insight into corporate culture from a retail perspective. Just started A Thread Across the Ocean and Your Inner Fish. And, I finally got around to reading Persepolis. Wow.
