If I had to pick one book that I could read over and over again, I would pick Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It makes me smile and I can totally escape to Rowling's world. If I had to pick one adult book for young adults, it would be To Kill a Mockingbird.

bookoholic13 in Book talk : Harry Potter #7 (Set 30, 2009, 2:09pm)

I'm joining the crew thinking Azkaban was the best, but I liked how the series ended. I too could have done without the epilogue, though.

I'm with BarkingMatt on Prisoner of Azkaban being the best, followed by Order of the Phoenix. I did enjoy the last book, although it seemed a bit too long. The only thing I didn't like was her closing chapter, seemed cheesy to me.

    38. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K . Rowling This is my first time reading the Harry Potter series. I really enjoyed this book!

. . . and I guess I'll answer my own question. Well, my favorite book in the series is still Prisoner of Azkaban, though I really couldn't tell you which one would be in second place -- four-way tie between DH, SS/PS, HBP, and OotP. I've mentioned before that my favorite characters are Dumbl ...

Hi. I've been a member of the 50 book challenge on livejournal (I'm known as elfycat there) since the beginning of the year. The Prisoner of Azkaban was the first Harry Potter book I read after seeing the movie version of The Chamber of Secrets. I thought it was fantastic! I'm kind of glad I read it first because when I went back to read the first two books they didn't grab my attention quite as much.

... enjoyed the book, and read it very quickly, perhaps more than all the others. Definitely one of my favourites, along with The prisoner of Azkaban and The half blood prince.

    39. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling - A HP book a day, I'm loving it! But I won't finish GoF by tomorrow, I'm going out for the entire day, as opposed to half of it.

I've begun rereading all the Harry Potter books in preparation for the grande finale. I'm currently on The Prisoner of Azkaban. 30. Finished last night, so it belongs to April-- The Prisoner of Azkaban. Now on to the good bits! This is a re-read, and the books get better from here. And LONGER. Just noting for myself that if I maintain this rate, I'll hit 90 books before the end of the year. I like that.

... There are very good pieces of the book: "Snape's Worst Memory" and the scenes in the Ministry being examples of this. Prisoner of Azkaban is probably my favorite, though; the plot fitted together so nicely, and, of course, it introduced Lupin. Half-Blood Prince really improved upon ...

I personally think that Cuaron's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the best HP film that has been made so far. I really liked Alfonso's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, but I don't think the movie would have made much sense if you haven't read the book--too much went unexplained. But some of my favorite Harry Potter movie moments happen in that film...

If you've seen it, what did you think of Alfonso's take on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban?

It was The Prisoner of Azkaban for a long time, since that's the place I first became emotionally involved in the series, but The Goblet of Fire has overtaken it as #1 Favourite over the past couple of readings. It's just so cool. I really loved The Half-Blood Prince too, though... I ...

Prisoner of Azkaban for sure! It just worked for me. Half-Blood Prince came very close, but I don't think it matched the magic of PoA. On the other side of the spectrum, Chamber of Secrets was my least favorite. It seemed so contrived compared to the two others I mentioned. Here they ...
