While his idiom here is Jewish, my liberal Catholic heart is cheering." --Jon M. Sweeney, coauthor,Meister Eckhart's Book of the Heart, and translator,Francis of Assisi in His Own Words For many of us, it feels as if our world is breaking apart. Long-held, comfortable beliefs are being shattered, and we face unprecedented questions and challenges. How do we heal the harsh divisions of class, race, religion, and cultures that plague us? How do we vanquish sexism, rigid fundamentalism, unabashed nationalism, senseless hatred, and violent terrorism? How do we save our precious planet from the threats to its very existence? In this book is a bold, visionary, Spirit-filled blueprint for the redemption, transformation, and evolution of our emerging new world through radical loving and a day-to-day sense of the sacred. With age-old wisdom wrapped in contemporary garb, sweet, inspiring stories, keen insights, and gentle guidance,Radical Loving is a call to renewal and to Oneness--a promise that Earth can be Eden once again.… (mais)

Well written. I just don't believe that organized religion will be the solution. Too much history of fighting amongst themselves. ( )

While Rabbi Dosick seems to be a very kind, loving man I find his approach to solving the world's problems to be misguided at best. He seems to be taking a humanistic approach to his solutions to what troubles the world. To quote the inside jacket cover, "'Radical Loving' is a call to renewal and to Oneness-a promise that Earth can be Eden once again." This seems almost Polyanna-ic to me, to say the least! The fallen nature of man most assuredly prevents the people of the world from ever coming together with kind hearts and love for one another. Besides, holy scripture tells us this will never come to fruition. This world will be destroyed because of the blackness and wickedness of the hearts of mankind. While I do appreciate Rabbi Dosick's desire itself there simply is no way his approach to solving the problems of this world will ever be possible. The posture of this book is merely an exercise in frustration.

This book wasn't what I expected. When I think of radical loving, I suppose I think of it from an ecumenical point of view. As an agnostic with an appreciation for spiritual leaders from a number of different faith traditions, I suppose I'm used to a more universal, less particular view of the divine. This book was more faith-centered than I expected, and for that reason I had trouble appreciating it for what it was. I don't mean this as a judgement against the book -- just a statement of my perception of it.

An interesting read, and a sincere desire from this Rabbi for working together towards world peace centered on working together with our similarities, rather than perpetual religious war based on differences. ( )

This book goes against everything I believe about God. I do not believe in this Rabbi's new age mysticism. This book is biblically incorrect and portrays God in an incorrect way. The chapter called "Then What Happened?" is absolutely cuckoo! I read to page 23 in the book and have no need to read further. This book is definitely not for me. ( )
