{my thoughts} - This book was an alright read. It allowed me to learn more about Jacob and his family and to see another side of Bella when she wasn’t so dazed and caught up in her Edward fantasy. However, there are still many references of Edward and the fact that Bella thinks she has the ability to hear his voice in her mind when she is doing something that could possibly end her life. But still she continues down her own path of self destruction all because she does not think that life is worth living if she does not have Edward to live for. It appears that Edward is living under the same rule of thumb, that life isn’t worth living without Bella and all he wanted to do was protect her so he is going to make the ultimate sacrifice which will be his life. It’s sad to think but {lovevampires.com} got it right – this book is ultimately a more modern Romeo and Juliet – its a love that both want but is not obtainable through any justified means so in the end they both sacrifice their lives. The only difference is neither end up dead and the end up back together again. However up until Bella is able to stop Edward from sacrificing his life that would appear to be the end solution death in the name of love – paranormal style. {reason for reading} - I honestly read this series because everyone was all hyped up over the movies that were coming out and I wanted to see what all the excitement was about. It's a good book and I like the developing chemistry of Edward's overprotectiveness and jealousness when Bella is with Jacob but you don't see much of that till eclipse. It's okay but definitely the worst of the saga but unskippable as it's essentially a set-up for eclipse. Still a good book and found myself crying at some parts.
Less streamlined than Twilight yet just as exciting, New Moon will more than feed the bloodthirsty hankerings of fans of the first volume and leave them breathless for the third. This best-selling sequel to “Twilight” — which introduced Edward, the world’s most gentlemanly 17-year-old vampire, and Bella, an ordinary teenager in Forks, Wash. — appropriately begins with an epigraph from “Romeo and Juliet”; love and death are once again entwined in their curiously absorbing romance. Despite Bella's flat and obsessive personality, this tale of tortured demon lovers entices. Está contido emContémTem a adaptaçãoTem um guia de estudo para estudantesPrêmiosDistinctionsNotable Lists
When the Cullens, including her beloved Edward, leave Forks rather than risk revealing that they are vampires, it is almost too much for eighteen-year-old Bella to bear, but she finds solace in her friend Jacob until he is drawn into a "cult" and changes in terrible ways.
