Somehow I missed book two in this series so I had to go back and read it before I started book 5. These are all standalones but I would recommend reading them all. We met Amy and Brock in the first book but just in passing. This book changes that. These two had mad chemistry. If you like a good story with a hot alpha man then look no further. Definitely recommend. I received an ARC for this book.... It was amazing. Anne has outdone herself again. Amy is absolutely hysterical in this book. I like how Anne speaks about the past and now we know what was going on with Amy/Brock/Ian when it was referenced in Gwen's book! She definitely fills all the holes from the first book regarding Amy/Ian and Brock. Great story line that captures you in. I started this at 8PM and stayed away until 3 AM because I couldn't put it down. I like this book because you really get to know Amy....in Making the Cut Amy comes across a little hard and strong. She is all that but you get to see the soft side of her. Brock....well he is awesome what a great character. He constantly sees through Amy and knows what she wants and how to take care of her. All of action and grit.... can't wait to see what the future holds for Brock and Amy. Don't want to spoil the book but definitely pick it up its a page turner. I would highly recommend reading Making the Cut prior since it picks up right where Making the Cut left off. The romance is steamy...... story is engaging and you really get ulled into the story of Brock and Amy. I would totally recommend and can't wait for who is next in this series. Anne definetly alludes to a couple few potential future relationships. By far one of the best new series I have read this year!!! sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Amy Abrams doesn't do love. Nor does she do emotional attachments, unless you count the connection she has with designer handbags. She grew up in an Upper East Side penthouse, which had about as much affection within its tastefully decorated walls as Castle Dracula. Her family is the precise reason why she points her red-soled heels firmly in the opposite direction of that dreaded four-letter word. Then it happens. Love. It comes right out of the blue and knocks her off her six-inch heels. She learns that love comes with pesky side effects such as heartbreak, which seriously messes with the complexion. Amy promises herself that she'll never open herself to that horrible feeling again. She doesn't count on an infuriating, albeit drool-worthy biker to roar into her life and ruin the plans she had of locking up her heart. She keeps her distance, wary of the sinfully sexy biker whose tattoos should read 'Warning: dangerous alpha male, will screw up your life. 'Amy may be an Upper East Side princess but she wasn't looking for Prince Charming. She wouldn't mind the name of his hair stylist, though. Brock certainly isn't a knight in shining armor, but he consumes her, body and soul. Drama pulls them apart; danger will bring them back together. When Amy is threatened, Brock is there, ready to save her life. Her heart is another story. Contains mature themes. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I was really not sure about reading this book. I enjoyed book one 'Making the cut' and Amy was a strong character in it, but i realized that some of the events of book one were going to run parallel with book two and this is a really difficult thing to do well.
Book one was Gwen's POV, this book is Amy's story so some of the events are the same as book one but from Amy's POV. This is done really really well. In book one we heard maybe the end of an argument or we see Amy's reactions to an event but we don't understand why or what the situation is. But rather than rehash the events we have already read in book one, which other authors have done and i have to say its really boring, there are very few instances where we reread anything the way it was written in the first book.
The other reservation i had was reading about Ian. I don't want to put too many spoilers in for those who may not have read 'Making the cut' so i won't be to specific After the events of 'Making the Cut' surrounding the conclusion of the events regarding Ian, i wasn't sure i could go back and read about him earlier in his life, but its done really well, in fact as moving as these events are in 'Making the Cut' i found this book very emotional, putting Amy in a really difficult position.
Amy's character is sassy, really sarcastic and funny and also an emotional mess, we learn about her family background early on which explains a lot. Including meeting Uncle Garret who is fantastic.
Amy and Brock argue 80% of the time and before they sort themselves out it always ends badly. Usually with him storming off leaving her struggling with her feelings. At times i wished he'd grow up and try to see past her armor and try harder to reach her but at the same time he doesn't understand her background like Ian does but later in the book when he does he really fights to keep her. Then he's really sweet and supportive But expect fireworks, in fact when they do get together, of sorts, Amy thinks that she likes waking before him in the morning and watching him sleep as he hasn't had a chance to make her angry yet.
I found the book very moving but also hilarious, even in the most dire of situations as Amy, rather than fear and succumb to anxiety throws out sass, even when she really shouldn't.
I really laughed so much my hubby was asking me why and i couldn't explain to him for laughing and then i was crying... the scene with Amy and Ian's Dad.. oh my goodness how emotional.
There is also the introduction of other new people from another club in New Mexico, and we have potential story lines for Luke(the Police guy)and Cade's sister which sounds like a good plot.
We also catch up with Cade and Gwen to see how they are getting along and we meet Kenton which also has potential for a book or even a series.
Looking forward to news of the next book. ( )
