I really like these novellas Danielle is putting out. It adds so much more insight into the main series. We learn so much more about the history and the motivation behind everything. For me The Straw King was my favorite, though the other two were brilliant. I can't wait for her next set of novellas to be released! I would recommend this book. 4.5 out of 5 stars. ( )

I was interested in these novellas because I liked volume 1 and had been curious to hear how this trio of characters ended up as such horrible people. To b quite honest I did not like Heart of Tin. I found his character to be very pathetic, weak, and annoying. I was so glad when his section was over. I did enjoy the other two stories and felt like they helped fill in some of the "How did Oz get this way?" questions I had. The Straw King was probably my favorite out of the three novellas. ( )
