Sobre mimMum of two, have self-diagnosed myself as a "compulsive reader" this morning after seeing a lot of myself in Sara Nelson, author of So Many Books, So Little Time, lover of movies and cooking (and eating!) when I'm not reading or chasing after kids.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaAin't books grand?
I'll read pretty much anything, but not romances or horror. (Although there are always exceptions.)
I'm using LibraryThing.com as a way of keeping notes on books I've read. I may not have them in my possession any more (library books, or books I've released through bookcrossing), but they should be tagged as such.

I felt the "urge" to congratulate you for your review on, ahem, "Twilight".
I, however, still do not wish to read it. hee hee.
But I am happy you got a HOT REVIEW!~!

I have read your review of Twilight with great interest. I read the first book as I wanted to know just what the fuss was all about and I still cannot fathom the success of this series. You shall be interested in this link in regard to the ban in some primary schools.

What's your bookmooch username? I wanted to inspect your wishlist to see if I had anything on it , but can't find you there. (I've stopped listing lots of new books but am still happy to send good ones off to friends!)

Just a quick note to thank you and let you know that TYPU has arrived here in good condition.
I can't wait to read it, but I'll have to tackle the tottering pile of bookrings that have been flooding my mailbox over the past week and a bit first!
Have a great weekend. I'll be reading....
Cheers

Looks like you really enjoyed "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" :-)
I'm looking forward to it. Are you thinking of Bookringing it?
The PO Box address is good. I'm at a conference with hubby at the moment and doing some of my own stuff on his Laptop. The teenagers (eldest is 20) are "home alone" and packages sent to home are liable to get placed in a "safe" spot and not found for a few months. :-)
I am beginning to get a bit addicted to registering on bookcrossing, even for books that are in my "permanent" collection. So much fun to see what even my non-bookcrossing family and friends think of what their reading.
Hopefully my Aunty will finish "The Women in Black" soon. I'll register it then and please no need to send it back. It was a wonderful gift from a fellow LTer and I think she might enjoy that it will be bookcrossed. I'll give her the BCID so she can track it to.
PS glad we are now officially friends :-)

I have just noticed your glowing crown of stars for Goulds Book of Fish. Wow I am going to try reading that one again someday. I just didnt get it at all the first time I tried. You really liked it ha!!
And you are reading Tracy Chevalier. Have you read Falling Angels? That would be my favourite of her novels.

And I'd forgotten about the pirate comic too... now *that* was disturbing {shudder}
Good on you for keeping up with anything at all! I always marvel at how much you can read with two young'uns running around!

I have a real soft spot for fairytale retellings, the Elemental Masters series by Mercedes Lackey are a real favourite.

What other books are you reading at the moment?
I've been plowing through Anita Blake, which is romantic horror so prolly no interest to you :P
and the latest books by Stephanie Laurens, which is some of the best romance i've ever read.
She's an Australian author who used to be a cancer researcher. Smart, sensible and believable.
Perhaps you might like her... I'd start with Devil's Bride.
Happy Reading.

The sequel to the Shadow Thief is out soon (01/03/08). It's called The Lampo Circus. Thought you might appreciate the heads up! I found this information on the HarperCollins website (http://www.harpercollins.com.au/global_s...).
Bye!
