This evening Patty said that it reminded her of "a wrinkle in time" which puzzled me at first until she explained that both have young women protagonists coming to terms w/ abilities of which they were unaware

A friend of mine picked up a copy of the trade of Air the other day and brought it into work. He left it in my office and I started flipping through it during my lunch break. I couldn't put it down! I kept sneaking a few more pages every now and then through out the day and by the time we went home I had finished the whole thing. I really loved how you introduced us to the world that Air is set in, and the last issue was so great! I had to go home and order my own copy, along with the rest of the single issues that are out. I'm definitely going to be subscribing, and I can't wait to see where the story is going! I realized that I had gotten Cairo for Christmas and hadn't had a chance to read it yet, so I pulled it from my pile of books to read and devoured that story as well. When I saw you were an author on LibraryThing, I just had to let you know how much I'm enjoying your work! You have such a unique voice and I look forward to reading whatever you come up with next :)

Just to say how much our family enjoyed "Cairo." Initially checked it out from our small town library and both Patty and I thought it among the best graphic novels we'd come across this year (and bought a copy). And then just the other evening, we v. pleased to discover that our son, to whom we gave a copy for Christmas, counted "Cairo" among his year's favorites.

Though the two stories are radically different in tone, my two favorites this year were both set in the middle east: "Cairo" and "Shooting War" by Anthony Lappe.

Hi there! Just read "Cairo" and enjoyed it very much. What a beautiful book - Vertigo did a nice job. Was tickled to add it to Library Thing and see the author on board.
