Sobre mimMy literary education only began in earnest once I finished university. I took mathematics, but if I could go back and do another degree, it would be in Great Books or something in the liberal arts.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaThe tags 'read' or 'recently read' refer to books I have read cover-to-cover, or, in the case of books also tagged 'reference', that I have meaningfully referenced at least once. For anthologies, I'm satisfied having read most of the pieces before marking the work as 'read'.

I don't consider two combined volumes as an anthology. I have a separate tag for diaries-and-letters, and don't call these anthologies either, unless the diaries or letters are combined with non-diary-and-letter works, in which case the book will receive both tags. Penguin's Portable author series is an example of this.

I use an 'autobiography' tag when I really should use a 'memoir' tag, due mostly to my laziness to go back and change things. Maybe later.

My book count is a little misleading, since I often add several-volume works together as one entry, unless, perhaps, I purchased them separately.

Most of my books were purchased in box-o-books sales or library sales, hence they are either damaged in some way, used, or otherwise unsaleable. The largest group of works that are an exception to this are my textbooks, bought mostly while I was in university.

I am willing to do book swaps (only in person for now, I live in Ottawa, ON). Any books tagged SWAP are available, but if you have your heart set on another, then let's talk about it, maybe over a cup of tea? I also have a couple of boxes of books that I have not catalogued, but which are available if you wanted to go through them---mostly books written in French, and some incomplete Sci-Fi series. As a miner of used book sales, I recognize that just because I don't want to keep a particular book, that doesn't mean that someone else won't find value in it, so let's make a deal: your books for mine.
