Sobre mimLusting after that dream job where I get to read all day, talk about books, and get paid!

Sobre a minha bibliotecaThis is my attempt to keep track of books that I've read for a couple of reasons: 1) as a readers' advisory tool, and 2) because it's just so darn much fun! I own a very small fraction of this list, I can't bear to keep a book when I think someone else might enjoy it (I'm all about sharing the love), and because I've moved so many times I try really hard to limit the number of back-breaking boxes I'll have to haul around. Books stay on my shelves only if I haven't found the right person to give them to yet or I can't imagine life without them.

Here's a fun fact: I've read all of the teen titles (save a dozen or so) since April 2004 when I first became a teen services librarian. Me loves to read!

Thanks for adding me....
I'm glad you are enjoying Assassination Vacation, I liked it a lot more then the Wordy Shipmates.
Last night you had mentioned that you were looking for memoirs for your challenge, I enjoyed these so maybe you might want to take a look at them to see if they interest you.

Diary of a Compost Hotline Operator by Spring Gillard, it is a very easy read, funny, and actually has gardening tips and resources if you are into gardening. It is also kind of local - Vancouver, BC.

Cuba Diaries by Isadora Tattlin, I am fascinated by Cuba so maybe that has affected my opinion of this book but it is also an easy read with a lot of culture shock situations.

Hypocrite in a pouffy white dress by Susan Jane Gilman. This is an incredibly funny memoir, if you like David Sedaris then you will probably love this book.

I grew up in the Portland area and read a lot of Beverly Cleary (she is from Portland) books as a little kid so I really enjoyed her two-part memoir: A Girl from Yamhill and My Own Two Feet.

Too bad touchstones don't work in comments...well, cut and paste the titles into search if you want to read some reviews to help you decide if any of these are interesting to you.
Thanks Emily,
It looks pretty nice. My order is on its way.

Hi,
I am Bill from the Tuesday Book Club. I posted a question for you in the Groups but in case you don't get by there often I thought I would repeat it here. You mentioned a book light that you liked at the meeting. One of the Christmas lists I got from my daughter-in-law has "booklight" on it so I was wondering if you could tell me the brand/model that you said you liked. I don't know anything about them.
Thanks.
Yup! library all belongs to me, and are on my shelves, although I can not claim to have read them all. I may be a bit of a "collector" but I am enjoying reading How to Read a Book like a Professor so maybe I'll hit more reading time.

I actually fell in love with LT in order to order my books and get them on shelves.

See you next month!
Your library is excellent. I love talking with other local librarians.
Hi librarianlost,

I'm liking your library!
Hi,I hope you read in the Seattle group that our first bookgroup meeting went well. We have a next date and next book. Hope you will be able to join us. Let us know if you want to participate but need a minor change in date, or place. I am pretty sure we still small enough that small adjustments are possible. - Karen (aka maggie1944)
Hi!

I’m sending this note because you are a member of the Seattleites group.

A few of us are starting a book club and I hope that you will consider joining us.

Our first book is In the Woods by Tana French. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2nd, at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park.

See our thread called Book Clubs? on the Seattleites group or you can reply to me if you want more info.

Thanks - Carol
Hey Emily - Glad you found me here! Thanks for your kind words.

There should definitely be Sweethearts galleys at Midwinter - if not the finished book! And I agree about the cover...I adore it.
Hi Emily,

Thanks for your friendship, and I hope you enjoy the books! I look forward to hearing back from you.

All the best,
Lisa
Hi! I noticed you were rated pretty high on my "weighted" members with my books, and wow - the ones we share are some of my favorites! I was wondering if it was the same for you? I am trying to catalog most/all of what I have read in the past and currently, so there are quite a few in there that I didn't enjoy. It makes it seem more likely that we have very similar tastes, though. Anyway, I enjoyed looking through your library. Best to you!
