It seems that you and I are the ones with Hubert Witherford's "A Blue Monkey for the Tomb".

Motif for Poetry

I find myself
writing a letter
to an unacceptable person

who is out there
momentarily
with his furry cap on.

Improbably
there seems more health in him
than I have known.

It is not to be taken
seriously
but it should be written.
I wonder if you could comment on R C Hutcinson's book Recollection of a Journey?

You appear to be the only person on LT to have it catalogued....

Thanks.
The only good thing that I can say about having 272 books about 'theory' is that there are 8757 books about other things (if we accept that the 229 books devoted to 'leftism' and the 198 texts re 'cultural studies' are not to be defined as 'theory'). Plus, I really like the pic of your library, pretty good considering my standard was set by the library in Trinity College, Dublin (in doing so, I overlook the preponderance of male busts/statues adorning said library to focus on the sacred space of books, such a weight of marvels it was hard to walk out of the place). Theory, I gotta say, is like that too-sweet marmalade you bought from a highly recommended provender. Sticky but not satisfying. Common sense, ahh, peanut butter for the not-too-literary soul!!
And I am another with whom you alone share a book on LT - Delinquent Days by John A Lee. Thought that was worth commenting on!
I noticed your library because we are the only two LT members with Bill Manhire's Collected Poems - and was even more impressed to see so many New Zealand books, and books about New Zealand, in your collection! If you don't mind me asking, as that a result of professional interest or personal connection?

Oh! What a beautiful photo you have! I long for a room with so many shelves filled with books! Well, the books I could provide, but the shelf space is lacking! Wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing! :) kristin
I just have to say that you have one beautiful library (or, I suspect, one of many beautiful rooms). And I bow to your stamina for having cataloged so many of them.
Just entering my Beckford Books. Extraordinarily it seems that we are the only WB fans on the LibraryThing. Where do you find space for 8000 books? My house is bursting at the seams with less than half!
