Firstladyofjazz,

I love your name.It reminds me of a jazz group I heard in Chicago about 10 years ago. We, my husband and I were attending my family reunion and Friday night we stopped in this restuarant right next to our hotel. One of the waiters informed us that we were to have a jazz group that night. It seems Fri,Sat& Sun they had live entertainment. We had a great dinner and we saw a few old men get up to the mike and without a word started to play. They sounded like a big band they were so good. After three pieces we noticed this little white haired lady who put down her knitting and walked up to the mike. She opened her mouth and I thought Sarah Vaugan was back from the grave. She was wonderful!! So when I saw your name I thought of the little whitehaired chocolate brown lady who put her knitting down and took over.
Hi, happy to meet you here.Thanks for acceptance
Hi, happy to meet you here. your pic.. is beautiful.
A Plea

GOD grant me these: the strength to do
Some needed service here;
The wisdom to be brave and true;
The gift of vision clear,
That in each task that comes to me
Some purpose I may plainly see.

God teach me to believe that I
Am stationed at a post,
Although the humblest 'neath the sky,
Where I am needed most.
And that, at last, if I do well
My humble services will tell.

God grant me faith to stand on guard,
Uncheered, unspoke, alone,
And see behind such duty hard
My service to the throne.
Whate'er my task, this be my creed:
I am on earth to fill a need.

Thought I would drop you a note to see if you had read, Going Down South by Bonnie J. Glover yet? Or any of her other books. I just finished an ARC and really enjoyed it. Reminded me of J. California Cooper's strong women. I posted my review.
firstladyofjazz...great name behind an interesting library. I really appreciate you adding me to your interesting library...I see in your catalogue that you have Black Like Me, I read this book about a year ago and found it fascinating...however I was puzzled as to why the author died so young. I often thought that by taking drugs to darken his skin had a negative affect on him later on in life...

peace

firstladyofjazz....
I really enjoyed browsing your library this evening. You have an amazing collection that definitely warrants a second visit. I see you have quite a few childrens books, and have many duplicates of those books. Is this because you have multiple children, or are you purchasing duplicates so that you will be able to keep one pristine copy? I thank you for sharing your library and will quickly add it as one of those I feel are most interesting!
