Sobre mimI'm a composer/vocalist living and working in New York City. In addition to being a composer, singer and avid reader, I co-produce a concert series that presents new works by young and emerging composers.
My Amazon.com Wishlist
Sobre a minha bibliotecaRelatively eclectic - ranging from my current loves of Gide, Genet, Cocteau, Isherwood, etc to my days of philosophizing and SciFi/Fantasy nerd-dom.
Out of sheer boredom, I've found as many covers of the editions I've read as possible, and added if a book is my own or borrowed from elsewhere (I consider my "library" all that I have read, rather than that which I own).
As a side-note, an "X" in my tags means that the book is as yet unread, a year is the year in which I read the book, or the bulk of it, and books that I own are also marked with the location of the book: with me in New York, or at my parents' house in IL.

Any "starter" Cocteau you would recommend? I might try to find it in French at the Alliance library here in Minneapolis. And, no, I have not read any of the Rorem diaries yet. May try to do so, as I hear they are wonderful. As for Gide, I think I read "Strait is the Gate" when I was in college. That's it.
Cheers

Thanks for finding my library interesting. The feeling is mutual. I'm especially fond of Genet and Isherwood, and have read less of Gide and very little of Cocteau. I have visited Isherwood's house and talked with his longtime partner, Don Bachardy. I regret that I missed an opportunity to meet Isherwood himself. Have you read the Isherwood bio, by Peter Parker? It's good, but long.
Best,
Claude
