Sobre mimI write about science. My sixth book, Microcosm: E. coli and the New Science of Life, was published in May 2008 by Pantheon. I also write for the New York Times and a number of magazines. I wish I had more time to read fiction; for years now I've been reading for research mostly.

What fascinating books you've written, Carl! And I can see that, given your productive writing career, reading not for research would take a back seat...but I hope you find some time to feed the wellsprings with stories somehow.

Thanks for doing the hard work,
RMD
Anything about the overlap of science and religion or the scientific revolution would fascinate me.
Thank you.
Just wanted to stop by and say I love your books! I've read Parasite Rex and Evolution... fantastic!
Thank you for writing Soul Made Flesh. When I first picked up your book two years ago, I was already interested in Creation/God/Religion and the Soul, but your writing inspired me to further pursue my interest and consider studying towards a degree in medicine.
If you could recommend any books similar to Soul Made Flesh, I would be very grateful. Again, thank you for writing that book.
Hello, I was just going through the list of fellow Connecticutians, and saw your name. How exciting! I loved 'Parasite Rex', and look forward to your next. Cheers!
I'm right now reading Soul Made Flesh; I'm really feeling like living in the England of the 17th century. It's a great read about history of science, and particularly neurology. I definitely will look for other books from you.
Thanks a lot - I'll pick it up. I always wanted to know more about E.coli. I see you've also got someting out about the latest brain reasearch. This also looks interesting.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and kep writing!
Very much enjoyed "At the Water's Edge", good overview the latest discoveries on the evolution of tetrapods. Good complement to another book I recently read "Your Inner Fish".

What are you writing about now?
Parasite Rex completely changed my view of ecosystems. The precision and complexity of parasite host-behaviour modification mechanisms is staggering! It left me wanting more...
Dear Carl,

I very much enjoyed Parasite Rex. I've always been interested in parasites and your book whet my appetite again after many years. I last studied parasites when at school.
I read a nice essay recently by Italo Calvino about Ovid's Metamorphoses.
