Sobre mimAlasdair Duncan is a writer, journalist, charming drunk and freelance practitioner of dark humour, based in Brisbane on the East Coast of Australia. Brisbane is a town renowned for its blue sky sublimity in the cooler months, and its summer transformation into a sweltering portal to madness. Al writes on a typewriter in an underground tunnel he burrowed himself, where he breathes through a straw. He survives by the good grace of cold beer, decent conversation and romantic, moonlit bouts of intense neurosis and self-doubt, and writes a weekly column for Rave, Brisbane's most popular music magazine.

Sobre a minha bibliotecaAlasdair, who for some reason has decided to refer to himself in the third person throughout this profile, is a fan of contemporary writers, especially conetmporary Americans. Some of his favourites include Tom Wolfe, Bret Easton Ellis, Jay McInerney, PJ O'Rourke, Donna Tartt, Martin Amis, Siri Hustvedt, Fran Lebowitz, Jeffrey Eugeneides, James St James, Carrie Fisher, Paul Auster, Elizabeth Wurtzel, Michael Chabon, Garrison Keillor and Plum Sykes.

While spending a lazy Sunday afternoon cataloguing my books (I'm a bit of a nerd, I've accepted it) and generally exploring librarything.com, I stumbled across your profile and thus your library. I couldn't help but notice you don't have the cover for 'Sushi Central' uploaded. I added it myself a while ago (I'm a bit finicky when it comes to that sort of thing... I don't like having the default book cover appear if I can help it), and I thought if you were interested, you can now update your default cover to my 'member added' one.

Have a good day, and P.S. I enjoyed your book.
'prep' is a fabulous book.
- it's in your random books on the side, and i feel good in my heart about it-

i am currently drowing some angsty sorrows in the wonder of a title called 'nick and norah's infinite playlist' which is exceedingly pop culture referenced, a little on the smug side, but exceedingly fun too. you borrow my copy. if you want. i think you would appreciate it's glory. however, i find the fact that the context is contemporary - the music referenced is contemporary, yet myspace & tv are completely negated - is slightly weird.
hey hey, biatch! why don't you go get yourself a librarything author badge???! you totally can! you know why? because YOU ARE..... you are too cool, that's all there is to it. and my side bar says we share four books. four! and our powers combine us off! off! into infinite awesomeness! rock! on!
