Sobre mim Reading. Lots of it. That's a big part of what makes me, me.

I have two cats and a husband. All of them are micro-managed and fed well.

Charley was actually a British Aviator - we are trying to find his lost monocle. We won't, no matter how much he begs, let him at the brandy. But seriously, he's very dashing, naughty and explorative. We've discovered he's part Bengal (he's an SPCA kitty, like his big adopted sister) so this accounts for the all manner of strange and wonderful things he likes to do. Sitting in toilet bowls, eating fluff, walking like a leopard, refusing to drink out of bowls and only from a running tap...

Leif (the husband) is attached to his computer and I feed him with a spoon and straw so that he doesn't have to step away from the keyboard. Unless he's napping on the couch...with kitties.

Ginny likes to hide. Often in a box with a hole specially cut into it for her, or in her kitty house. Charley the Orange Monster has dragged her out of her shell, though, and she spends a lot of time tearing after him up and down the hall...and hissing and spitting with ears laid back. It's all for show though. The blunt truth is that Ginny is a grizzly, whiny, grumpy cat. I think that's why I love her. She has permanent PMS. We relate well.

Currently, we are looking after a beautiful, shy kitty called Bear (a misnomer) for a friend while she sorts out Life and Things. Bear squeaks and sounds like a parrot. She's been spoiled, and would prefer to eat cheese (good taste) and salmon rather than her biscuits. She has also taken to using the bath-tub as a toilet. Hmmmmmm....

We'll get there.

In regards to this place I belong to Early Reviewers while waiting fruitlessly for Random or such to open up the programme here. ~taps foot~ I've also discovered the joys of the Green Dragon

Oh, and I've decided to pull my weight and actually write some reviews on all these damned books I read...slowly.

Current Picture: Me, wild and woolly at a beach.

September Books A bookless month, alas - cutting down the to-read pile, and money going elsewhere. Heaves great sighs. Let me amend that to 'mostly bookless'.

Sobre a minha biblioteca I only list books that I own. Currently, I'm being ruthless and sorting out books that I'm going to trade. I've resisted this for quite some time. But, my collection is growing, and I have no room, nor time, for books I loathe, or ones that I won't consider reading again, or reading at all. So, I have a To-Sell tag that is slowly growing, and a box by my desk.

This is a Big Step.

I have three shelves: the speculative fiction shelf; a smaller one for lit. fiction; and the other miscellany (and yet more fantasy) is on a third shelf in the office. Fragile things, and children's picture books, are in a box. Our house is very small - crowded with cats and books.

I love tags.

If the start of a series has made it into my Top 30 tag (somewhat obviously it refers to my Favourite Books of All Time), it means I've counted the whole series as one book - given that one series tells one story after all.

And if a book (particularly a literary fiction or fantasy one) doesn't seem very detailed in terms of tags, it's likely because I haven't read it yet, or it's one that I read long ago and can't remember very well. Curses!

I am soooo glad they are finally in your hands - what a bother that turned out to be! HUH! It was supposed to be a nice, warm experience for you! HUH - NOT!!I will know to send small thin packages in future; the first one landed OK in your letterbox - didn't it? Well...you know how I feel about postal services...

You are very welcome (after all that fuss!) and I hope you enjoy them. I am waiting until the latest comes out in a size I can hold up to read (it is also very thick) and then I am going to read the whole series from the beginning again; it has been so long since I read the first that I have forgotten a lot, and I can't remember if I even read The Keeping Place. We can compare notes...

Enjoy your weekend!

Love Lyn
Are they there yet? *whinge whinge - whine whine* I'm bored!! Are they there yet?
Oooh... I see you added a Thubron novel to your library. I've been curious about his novels. His travel narratives are wonderful. Alas, I'm only allowing myself a few book trades between now and the end of the year to get the TBR under control. No more book buying! (yeah, right!)
Hi Kamla,
I posted your books today - I hope they arrive quickly and safely! Let me know...
L.
Hey K!

Quick note to let you know I DID find a copy of Ashling today!!! It was just there in the shop, waiting for me to get it for you!! Good - huh? So I will post them both together soon. Just in case you now find a copy, don't buy it!

How's you going - huh?
Enough of the illiterate act, I hope you are well - ish!

Love Lyn
Hello Kamla,

I wish I could say I only added two this month - but you are right: they are a good two! And it would have been three but I haven't gotten my act together and posted your book. I have a long, long weekend next weekend, as I gave myself a couple of extra days off - so I will post it then. And then you will have one for October!! I was hoping to find the other one so I could send them together, but no luck there.

How was your week back working? I had a very busy week as I had to give a few after-hours tutorials for the university students, so I have been late home and not able to do much. And then I had to catch up this weekend. And now it is back to work time again...

How is your currently-reading book? Actually, don't answer that; the last time I asked I had to go buy said book as you said it was so good!! My TBR pile would do serious harm if it toppled over onto someone; like me!

Hope you are doing OK!

Hugs for you,
Lyn
I'm happy now because I'm tired and don't have the energy to be miserable.

I love your sense of humor and your philosophy of life. :D

Also... that picture is so pretty! And you looked way cute in the other one, too, with the red star. I had to say it. :P

Thank you for making the Dragon a happy place!

Tess
Hey, good to hear from you. Between work, trying to keep up with my house, and the kiddos being back in school, life is very busy. I've been trying to organize myself, especially with the TBR pile being out of control right now, and I've run out of space for books. I wish I could read them as fast as they come in! Am considering another purge but can't find much I want to part with (isn't that always the case!).

Take care!
Kamla...

I love your new pic, you are a beautiful young woman.

popped in to wish you luck with your book buying moratorium too.

Sigh...fingers crossed for us both!

Just keep thinking about having to move all the books to your bright new home!

kath
LOL! If you look up "swirly slime" in Google, you will find your post as the second entry! And, I looked it up for purely scientific interest in its chemical composition. There's no interest in slimey toys here. Not at all. Move on now.
*sips carefully*

*smacks lips*

Ahhhh!! Good coffee.

*pats Severn's head*

Good girl, good girl.
Hey, lady! You slammed that coffee down so hard, it sloshed! I demand another mug! Presto!
Yay!!! hahaha

Yeah, you have the right to remain silen... errr... I mean, you have the right to overwhelm me with cuteness anytime! :D
Hey Lyn!

Hahahah!

I left my OWN comment just for you...

*pokes out tongue and waggles arms in a mock-taunting gesture*
