Sobre mimJust an old-fashioned occult generalist with enough library to insulate the house. In early 2007, published my first book, co-authored with my husband, author Isaac Bonewits.
No, that's not actually me in the picture. It is a portrait of Hypatia (c. 360-415), who lectured on mathematics at the Library of Alexandria. No, I am not a mathematician, but I am very fond of the Library of Alexandria. For a time, thanks to misinformation gleaned from Carl Sagan, of all people, I believed her to be the last Librarian of Alexandria. Alas, it is not so; or at least, only Dr. Sagan believed it to be so.
Sobre a minha bibliotecaFeb. 2009. We've made a big physical change in our library, moving all the boxes to the (now) spare room (the adolescent has gone to college). We're still unpacking, cataloging and then re-packing, since we (a) have no room, and (b) still hope to move cross-country relatively soon. I comfort myself that if we need something, at least we know what box it's in—and the box is in the next room.
The most fun we're having with the Great Cataloging Effort is discovering books the other had that we didn't know about. My TBR shelf is growing larger all the time. (I need to spend more time reading books!) The most aggravating thing is finally finding the books we really needed for research we were doing two-three years ago. Ah, well.
Spousal Unit has requested I focus on entering our own library, not on regulating data across LT. Fortunately for me, our own books are in need of lots of CK and combining, so I can get my fix anyway. Currently, I have the fantasy that, if I get through all our uncatalogued books, I can start again with box 1 just to verify all the covers. And to think I didn't think I was OCD!

My allergy season is over! I'm going to buy some of the resin incense and stink the joint up.
Hope things are looking up for you and your husband- Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and the very best in the New Year.

The sellers on eBay always seem to categorize the rock incense in the Wicca section, and since I know you practice I was hoping you can tell me how to go about it. I'd ask the priest but the only high Catholic church I know is St. Mathews in DC and I don't work down there anymore (nor am I Catholic.) Also, if you know about it and can recommend some? I like musky/woodsy scents rather than floral. It's going to be moot for the next several weeks, anyway because I get fall allergies and they trigger migraines, so I'm off all stinkum until the first frost.

Don't they expel you from Pedants' Corner for things like that?

I really love your name. Wanted to say that before getting down to the nubs, which is that I read your post on 50-something folks and was struck by your mention of wanting to return to Ashland, Oregon. I live further upstate in NY than you, and hate not only the winters but also a dearth of anything to do here. I've been obsessively thinking about places to live instead, and Oregon is high on the list . . . so I'd love to hear your reasons for preferring that place. Who knows . . . maybe I'll see you there eventually?
Cheers,
Elizabeth

Interestingly (or not, I suppose), Eschaton has recently had something of a resurrection (or had clawed itself, zombie-like, out of the grave) to be the nominal publisher for a new series of "art books" being done via Lulu (using the old Eschaton ISBNs) for the SecondLife-based Avatrait Gallery (http://avatrait.com).

I 'only' have 383. And I make do with an average of 'only' 3.45 per book. I've been a member a little longer than you, but until a year ago I was limited to the free books - I can't use Paypal, so I had to wait until I could convince my mother that this was what I wanted for Christmas last year. If I'm ahead of you in entering, it's because I haven't been doing covers. I figure I have to work through the whole library again to get the things right I didn't know how to do properly at first, to do covers, ...

Merry Christmas , Seasons Greetings , Happy Hannukah , Joyeux Noel , Happy Kwanzaa , Yuletide Blessings , Peace on Earth and Blessings from Sacred Mother Earth.
May this holiday season inspire one and all to elevate their souls to greater things. May we all sip lifes sweet moments as we celebrate the coming of the New Year for with it comes the hope for a brighter tomorrow.
I thank all who have touched my life this past year , for friendships and acts of kindness are the nectar that nurtures ones spirit and sustains ones soul. Know that your kindness has allowed my inner self to swim in an ocean of light. The singing of your heart has resonated positively with me and inspired me to greet each day with brilliance.
My wish is for the New Year to bring all who read this peace , love and harmony. May you create a path of light where earthly treasures abound and may you awaken to your true purpose as you open your soul to a new world of guiding wisdom. The greatest gift you can give during the holidays is a warm smile , a loving embrace and an outstretched hand. Share those things not only with loved ones but with all humankind and together we can make the New Year one of bliss , beauty and love profound.
Merry Christmas , Seasons Greetings , Happy Hannukah , Joyeux Noel , Happy Kwanzaa , Yuletide Blessings , Peace on Earth and Blessings from Sacred Mother Earth.
Yours in Holiday Spirit
