Sobre a minha bibliotecaPlease feel free to leave me a polite, private message if you find any errors in the entries in my catalog. Between errors in auto-load data sources and my own typos, there are bound to be mistakes, and the more we weed out from our catalogues, the better the LT database is.
My Library? It's all over the map and all over the house. Lot's of history and historical novels, but probably 1/3 fiction of some form. Six shelves of poetry - more than I can ever read, but I can read some from every volume before time runs out. A large number of reference works (history, literature, and language) because my interest in books and reading is also an interest in history and words.

A Three Toed Tree Toad's Ode
A he-toad loved a she-toad
That lived high in a tree.
She was a two-toed tree toad
But a three-toed toad was he.
The three-toed tree toad tried to win
The she-toad's nuptial nod,
For the three-toed tree toad loved the road
The two-toed tree toad trod.
Hard as the three-toed tree toad tried,
He could not reach her limb.
From her tree-toad bower, with her V-toe power
The she-toad vetoed him.

That's the trouble with coming into this sort of thing as a complete amateur -- you learn useful things when you're halfway through the job!
I've taken the liberty of copying your comment to the Wiki page to ensure it doesn't get lost.

Thank you so much for the heads up on the typo on my entry for The Deptford Trilogy. I corrected it. I started manually entering everything because I noticed that the imports from Amazon weren't quite right sometimes. However, I should have caught this error before saving it. I wonder how many others I have? Maybe I can just check through everything in 2009 and start entering all of my old books in earnest. :)
I do like the Gawain book. My daughter told me about it and recommended it to me. I don't really think that there is too much white on the page. I don't mind that the original verse is not also included, although I think that could have been nice. I am not as knowledgable as the other people in the Folio Society Devotees Group, so you will have to take my recommendation with a grain of salt. :)
Thanks again, and have a great day!

I used to work in a bookstore, and I was shelving books one day and came across Sarum. Like you, the subject intrigued me. I thought it was a unique idea to tell the history of an area over thousands of years, following the lives and descendents of several families. I would read Sarum while working the cash register -- they really don't like for employees to do that by the way, at least not at the store where I worked. I ended up buying the book and finishing it at home.
So that was my introduction to Rutherfurd, a gifted author and storyteller and historian who, in my opinion, gets little recognition.
I did post a review of Sarum on my personal site: http://steventill.com/2007/08/03/sarum-t.... I post my reviews there, though I am working on posting more. I only have about a dozen or so right now.
Thanks for the recommendation: London.

Earlier version (on t.p.) : "An Exaltation of Larks or, The Venereal Game" by James Lipton. Expanded second edition with over 100 new entries. Grossman Publishers. (On t.p. verso) c1968, 1977. Twelfth printing October 1977. 137 pages. ISBN: 0-670-30044-6
Later version (on t.p.) : "An Exaltation of Larks -The Ultimate Edition" James Lipton. Viking. (On t.p. verso) c1968, 1977, 1991. 324 pages. ISBN printed in the CIP data: 0-670-30044-6. (This ISBN is also printed on the book jacket.)
Looks like the ISBN was recycled since Grossman is a division of Viking Penguin. I hope this answers your question.

Would you be interested in helping with the Walter Scott library? On the strength of your catalogue and profile picture, I suspect you must be something of an expert. Or at least LT's leading Scott collector. I see you've even got a reprint of the Abbotsford catalogue in your library.
If you have time to add a few books, or to fix some of our errors, please leave a note on Sir Walter's profile.

Sorry to be so slow in my response. I do have the 1968 edition of "An Exaltation of Larks", but none of the bronze colored covers matches mine. I've added a new cover that does. Thanks for your note.

I've changed Owen Merith to Meredith, Owen Earl Lytton as per your suggestion. It's shown up on my data base.
Can you tell me how to reach someone who can tell me how to get extraneous information out of my tags list? It's gotten quite unwieldy with duplications and I'd like to streamline it.
Thanks.

Maybe you could give me your advice: I'm intrigued by one book listed by the LT Recommendations machine, Rienzi by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. I've never heard of it, neither of the author, neither of Cola di Rienzo. (I only knew the Wagner's opera...) There are only 11 copies of it on LT, and I saw you had one. What do you think of it? Was it ever published by Folio? Thanks for the reply.
