Hi!
I'm glad you like my website!
I found you on the fan page on Facebook. It'a amazing how many books you have!
I'm very new here and I was curious to learn more about the community members. I'm doing research about Librarything.com and other online networks that are related to books and libraries. Maybe you can help me as well!
Would you mind answering a couple of question about your Librarything experience?

"MYSELF

I have to live with myself, and so,
I want to be fit for myself to know;
I want to be able as days go by
Always to look myself straight in the eye;
I don't want to stand with the setting son
And hate myself for the things I've done.
I don't want to keep on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself as I come and go
Into thinking that nobody else will know
The kind of man I really am;
I don't want to dress myself up in sham.
I want to go out with my head erect
I want to deserve all men's respect;
But here in the struggle for fame and pelf,
I want to be able to like myself.
I don't want to think as I come and go
That I'm bluster and bluff and empty show.
I never can hide myself from me,
I see what others may never know,
I never can fool myself -- and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free."

- Edgar Albert Guest
Dressed to the nines and surrounded by books! Who could ask for anything more? I'm assuming there's a bottle of champagne chilling somewhere off-camera...
Thanks for the offer! I'd love to meet next time you're in town and have some time.

John,

Unfortunately, we are short on eclectic bookstores in Los Angeles. It's one of the reasons I miss living in New York. There are Dutton's (11975 San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood), Book Soup (8818 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood), and Vroman's (695 E. Colorado Blvd in Pasadena).

What's your conference?

Robert
John and Carol,

Browsing for LT members who tag "mythology," I came across your impressive collection and websites. I'm resisting the temptation to import your entire mythology catalog into my wish list. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Robert
Hi John. I remember you from the de Lint list many years ago. Love the photo - you both look very happy together. -- Michele
You like Mieville and Erickson. Cool!
Hi John and Carol. I entered four books and hit one we have in common.

Barcode reader would help. An awful lot of my books were pre-ISBN, though. Lot of data entry no matter how you look at it but the results are well worth it, I find LT to be a very useful tool.
Wow, do you guys have a lot of work ahead of you!
