This was an excellent history of a square and a neighborhood. With quotes from diaries and histories, descriptions of people, and numerous pictures, the history of Rittenhouse Square is brought to life. As such it also provides a peak at the history of Philadelphia as a whole. A very enjoyable, readable, and informative book.
